Visits to our Lifeboat Station & Schools

During the year we get many requests for organised visits especially from schools, youth and adult groups, which we are happy to accommodate where possible. In addition crew members or our Visits Officer will visit local schools.

We view these visits as very important as they give us the opportunity to spread the safety message for coast and sea. It also enables us to explain that we are are a charity and receive no funding from government. To operate our 24/7 rescue service we rely entirely on the generosity of the public and have done so since the RNLI was founded in 1824.

We are not a manned station and any prospective visits will need to be agreed, ideally well in advance, with our Visits Officer.

All our crew, management and fundraisers are volunteers and give their often limited time to help spread the safety message. It is vital that any timetable agreed is strictly adhered to by visiting groups.

Please use the Contact Us email form giving us outline details of what you require plus your contact information. Your enquiry will be forwarded to our Visits Officer and it may take a few days before you get a response.

We hope you will enjoy your visits to the station.
